Happy 4 Year Anniversary

On January 22, 2005 I married the man of my dreams! We had the picture perfect wedding and celebrated with many family & friends! This year marks our 4 year anniversary! I cannot believe that it has been 4 years already! Wow how the time flies by!! We have had a wonderful marriage so far and pray God's blessing on our lives as we celebrate for many more years to come!!!

Here is a little tribute we have given each other...

I remember how I felt the first time I saw you. There was something about you that I couldn't forget. Maybe it was your eyes or your irresistible smile; all those things that I have since come to know so well. But whatever it was, I remember that it drew me in and took hold of me in a way I couldn't ignore. Now when I look at you, I see someone who's become so incredibly important in my life. Yet there are still those moments when I feel the mystery, the charm, the same invisible power pulling me to you; just as it did when we first met. And in those moments, I can't help myself...I fall in love all over again! When I see your sleepy, smiling face on the pillow next to mine, the words "good morning" seem absolutely true. When I see your smile in the steamy bathroom mirror, I know I can get through the day. When I see your smile across the crowded room, everyone else disappears. And when I see your smile at day's end, back on the same pillow, I wonder how I came to be this blessed. I can't help myself...I fall in love all over again!

5 months, photo shoot & sitting up!!!

I've been wanting to get some professional pictures done of Jonathan I this month we finally had the opportunity to meet up with a good friend of mine from high school who is a photographer. Kellie Day and her husband Clint from http://www.kelliedayphotography.com/ came over to our house and did a photo shoot with us and Jonathan! She had been wanting to update her portfolio and do some practicing on infants & children and I told her she could do all the practicing she wanted on Jonathan! =) We had a great time catching up and getting some GREAT pictures of Jonathan! She does an amazing job! There is one photo in particular that Kellie took that when she sent it to me I thought she was sending me a picture of the Gerber baby and not Jonathan. I asked her who that baby was and she told me it was Jonathan! We have had many people tell us that he looks like the Gerber baby but when I saw this picture I saw it with my own eyes! He truly is our Gerber baby! =)
Jonathan is now 5 months old and sitting up so big! He has decided that he does not like to lay on the floor because it makes you sleepy when you lay down and we don't want to go to sleep! He has such a strong will but is such a happy baby! We always get the comment, "Is he always this happy?" And the answer is...YES! We are blessed to have such a happy baby! Who wouldn't be? Jonathan is such joy in our lives!!!

Radio Debut

After many long years into my music ministry I finally had the opportunity to be on the radio! What an exciting experience to say the least! I got the contact from a gentleman from our church who is the DJ on the show. He actually did our Christmas program and Jonny & I talked to him in between performances and he invited me to come sing on the radio! Finally, after a couple of weeks I got the nerve up to e-mail him and set up a date for the show! Two weeks later I had my debut on the radio! I was able to give away a few CD's and got to sing live!

4 months, 1st foods and a Happy New Year!

We've officially made it to 4 months and boy has it gone fast!! It literally feels like yesterday when Jonathan was born! It kind of makes me sad how quick he is growing up...I know it's only 4 months but before I know it we are going to be planning his 1 year birthday party!! Well, let's not think about that yet!!

So 2008 has come and gone and we are starting a brand new year! We usually try to plan a little get-to-gether to welcome in the new year but our plans changed a bit this year as Jonny got a stomach bug and we had to cancel our plans at the last minute! I didn't want to get the bug and I sure didn't want Jonathan to get it so we decided to stay at my parents house while Jonny was sequestered to our house for a day or so! We did, however, stay up to watch the ball drop (well, most of us did)! Jonathan is now making some new discoveries as he is a pro at rolling over and is really trying to sit up!! We decided that New Years Day would be a great day to introduce some solids into Jonathan's diet and boy did he LOVE it!

A Visit to Santa

Children all over the world look forward, with anticipation, to the arrival of Ole' St Nick on Christmas Day. And, like most, they want to capture a glimpse of Santa with hopes to "secretly" reveal all their wants and desires to the big man in a red suit. I wanted to start a holiday tradition with Jonathan (even though he is still too young to understand) to capture the annual photograph of him and Santa Clause!! We weren't too sure if Jonathan would be petrified of Santa but figured if we started him young he would never know the difference! My good friend Katy also wanted to get a picture of Miss Lila with Santa so we figured it would be a great "play date" for us and the kiddos!!
As you can see...they did great and I think Santa liked them too!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

One of my most favorite things to do is open presents on Christmas morning! This year we have received a gift from God in the form of a baby! Even if there were no presents under our tree we were so thankful for the child God had given us!! I felt like a kid again!! I couldn't sleep the entire night before and by the time my alarm was going off I was up and at-em!! It was still pretty early but I wanted to get Jonathan up so I could start taking pictures!! Jonny, on the other hand, was still groggy and was pleading for us to go back to bed! Hehe! =) I wasn't going to have it! After we all got dressed and had a bite to eat we gathered around the Christmas tree and settled in to get a family photo! Jonathan had been given a little Red Ryder wagon from a family friend so we wanted to make sure we got a picture of him in it! He was adorable!! We finally got all the pictures taken and started opening presents. We opened a few for Jonathan so he could play while mommy and daddy opened their gifts from each other. He lasted about 15 minutes and passed out! Poor little guy...his mommy had to go wake him up early!! What an incredible morning we had!!!
After cleaning up all the mess from wrapping paper and boxes we got ready to head over to mom & dad's to eat lunch and open presents! We had a glorious meal and a wonderful afternoon with them. Jonathan got so many great toys from his Mimi & Opa and he even made them a gift as well!! All in all we will never forget this Christmas!!

3 months old and "baby Jesus"

Every year our church puts on a Christmas program and this year our family got the GREAT privelage of portraying the "Holy Family" (Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus)! I was a little worried that Jonathan was going to be a little old to play the part because he is such a busy-body. However, he completely suprised us all and was a little angel!!! To this day we still get stopped in the halls of church from numerous amounts of people saying how good Jonathan was as baby Jesus! I also had the joy of singing a solo in the same performance and the song fit so well to our situation, “Not an Ordinary Baby”! This program also marked a year from when we miscarried our first child. It was a time of reflecting our loss and rejoicing our Savior for our new little life, Jonathan! What an amazing year we have had. From miscarriage to celebration! God is great.
